The Śloka goes:
āhāra-nidrā-bhaya-maithunaṁ ca sāmānyam etat paśubhir narāṇām | Eating, sleeping, inherent sense of insecurity and love of perpetuating their own species - these four are common.

Each human being has several goals. These goals are not constant and they keep changing over one's life journey.

Our scriptures have intelligently categorised the multifarious goals that a human being can have into 4. All types of security that a human being seeks, to free themselves from the insecurity that they face is called Artha Purushārtha.

Animals eat only when they are hungry. They don’t eat for pleasure. When one starts eating for pleasure, it becomes Kāma purushārtha.

It is a privilege for the human beings to have a 'choice' in things that they do. However, a choice based on convenience may cause pain to others around them.

There is a pressure to be different from what I am now. Then only I will be acceptable to myself. This pressure comes out of non-acceptance of self.

Where there is a choice, there is also a choice to abuse them. The choice that one makes must consider their neighbours interests too and they must be ethical.

When I feel helpless and small due to my own omissions and commissions it is called Guilt and what I feel due to other's omissions and commissions on me is called hurt.

Self-ignorance causes self-judgement and this leads to self non-acceptance. This is called Samsāra. I seek freedom from samsāra.

As the father is born again, the wife is called Jāyā. Love for perpetuation of one's species is common to human beings and animals.
