At Saptasaraswata Tīrtham there lived the celebrated Rishi, Maṅkaṇaka. Once when he cut his hand, Vegetable juice flowed out of the wound. He got proud about this and started to dance. When the Devās reported this to Lord Śiva, He vanquished the Rishi's pride by creating holy ash to flow from a small wound that he created by pressing his fingers together.
